Image Signal Processing (ISP) is a dedicated unit designed to process the output signals from front-end image sensors. In real-world applications, due to physical limitations of lenses and sensors, as well as the need for sensors to adapt to varying lighting environments, an ISP is required to control the sensor and process image signals to achieve the desired image quality.

Features

  • Sensor Support: Supports 4 Bayer patterns (BGGR, GBRG, GRBG, RGGB) and image data bit depths of 8-bit and 10-bit.
  • Resolution Flexibility: Supports a wide range of image resolutions, including VGA, 720p, 1080p, 2K and 4K.
  • Modular Design: The ISP consists of independent sub-modules, including
    • AEAWB: Automatic Exposure and Automatic White Balance adjustment.
    • CFA (Color Filter Array): Converts Bayer pattern images into RGB format.
    • CCM (Color Correction Matrix): Performs color correction for high fidelity.
    • GAMMA: Implements non-linear adjustment of image grayscale values.
    • CSC (Color Space Conversion): Converts between different color spaces (e.g., RGB to YUV).
    • Scaler: Performs image upscaling and downscaling.
